Audrina Patridge Is A 'Huge Lil Wayne Fan,' Lauren Conrad Thought Kid Rocked, And More Favorite VMA Moments

Everyone seems to take in an persuasion about the VMAs, and celebrities world Health Organization were prestigious at, appeared in, and attended the show ar certainly no exception. After Sunday night's awards, MTV News caught up with everyone from Best New Artist winners Tokio Hotel and Cee-Lo to the girls from "The Hills" and the show's house band members, Travis Barker and DJ AM.

Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, who talked with MTV News late last month about what a Britney VMA show might do for her career, declared the show "ladies' night."

"I'd have to say it was all about the girls," he said. "Divas galore! Britney Spears looked great!"

However, it wasn't ladies' night in the Best New Artist category, where Tokio Hotel took the prize from the likes of alpha females like Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry. One of the night's leading ladies, Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger (whose group north Korean won the Best Dancing in a Video award), gave it up for the German boys.

"We are so proud of them!" she said. "They are our labelmates and we've watched them kind of turn up, and tonight they represented. They killed it tonight." [Note: The grouping did not perform at the VMAs but were very enthusiastic about winning their award.]

Tokio Hotel's Bill Kaulitz aforesaid yet again that the group did not expect to walk away from the VMAs as winners. "I receive no actor's line!" he gushed after the show. "We are so surprised and excited. We never expected it!"

Celebs also weighed in on whose performance best rocked the show. "Hills" star Lauren Conrad said, "Actually, [my favorite functioning] was Kid Rock," world Health Organization performed his hit "All Summer Long." "It was amazing. He vocally sounded amazing. His performance was so great."

Meanwhile "Hills" co-star Audrina Patridge said, "I'm a vast Lil Wayne fan. Also, I was in love life with Rihanna's performance. It was so good. She's perfect!"

Gnarls Barkley's Cee-Lo gave it up for his hip-hop brethren. "I guess [my favorite performance] was watching Kanye perform a new strain I've ne'er heard before. It was great," he said. "T.I., my man, watching him do his thing and get back up on top. My military man Lil Wayne doing his thing. It was all wonderful."

(Head hither for more on post-VMA parties, what you didn't see behind the scenes, the hottest arrivals and a full VMA fashion report!)

Of form, the night belonged to Britney Spears, who took home three Moonmen, including Video of the Year. Brett Ratner, who directed VMA-nominated videos for Miley Cyrus and Mariah Carey, said, "It was so cool to see Britney. Even though my girls Miley and Mariah didn't win an award, I came to support.

"You know this is Britney's year," he continued. "She came back in a big way. She looked beautiful. She was on it. She looked hot. She was smart, down-to-earth and real. She didn't try too hard."

He concluded by saying, "Hopefully, she'll take in me direct one of her videos."

"It was a pleasant surprise to see Britney do her thing," Cee-Lo added. "You can't count anyone out."

Travis Barker, who with DJ AM was the show's house band, gave Brit her props as well. "She makes banging music still and she looks awe-inspiring," he aforesaid. "Hopefully it's the root of her comeback."

During the show, Barker and DJ AM rocked it with everyone from the Ting Tings to Katy Perry, but they were especially geeked to play with LL Cool J on his 1987 classic "Going Back to Cali."

"It was really a big look at, but really, really, really fun," Barker gushed. "Performing with LL Cool J ar you kidding me? Growing up, if I ever thought I'd be acting with LL Cool J I would trip."

"It was beyond an honor," DJ AM aforesaid of playing the VMAs. "I've been watching since the commencement one. When they asked me I had to pee my pants! It was a lot of fun. Standing next to LL Cool J freaked me out, 'cause I'm a vast fan and have been for years."

Ratner also weighed in on host Russell Brand, whose controversial remarks swiped at everyone from President Bush to the Jonas Brothers. "He did his thing," Ratner aforementioned. "I was worried for him. English humor is different than American humor.

"I met him on the day he arrived in America," Ratner recalled. "Courtney Love brought him to my house and she was like, 'He is so funny,' just he was really shy and wasn't doing anything."

Perez Hilton, on the other hand, echoed the language of his sort-of namesake Paris Hilton and aforesaid Brand shouldn't have gone after the Jonas Brothers.

"I think those Jonas Brothers are skilful kids," he said, "and we shouldn't be making fun of them for promoting salutary values."

It's a wrap! Now that the 2008 VMAs have come and kaput, check out all the winners, the most surprising moments, the best red carpet fashions and more at VMA.MTV.com.

As the scion of a well-situated great alloy icon and his apt director married woman, Kelly Osbourne's celebrity was mayhap inevitable. Still, it was a curious blend of freakish realness TV success, gift for performance, distinctive adolescent peevishness, and a flare for Courtney Love-like self-promotion that in the end posited Kelly fully in the public's knowingness.

Gene Kelly Osbourne was born October 27, 1984, in London, England. Growing up during the judicious days of Ozzy's '80s replication, she rip her clock time between proper English schooling and international hotel suite. It was for certain an unconventional upbringing, merely one that strengthened the Osbournes' familial adherence in foreign and interesting ways. Kelly and her kin stirred permanently to Los Angeles in 1995, and proverb Ozzy's Ozzmosis LP sell trey million copies, competently returning him from the border of retirement. That revitalization light-emitting diode to Ozzfest, a perennially successful summer package enlistment that itself aided in the popular christ's Resurrection of the alloy musical style. Naturally, with Ozzy's reemergence came interviews and compress.

As Kelly and her brother Jack began devising more and more appearances with their momma and dada, observers renowned the Osbournes' quite different take on the traditional family line dynamical. And subsequently a peculiarly memorable gossip by Cribs to the lovably battling brood, MTV could visit that it had something good. The Osbourne Family premiered in March 2002, and was an immediate general strike. Fashionably brash, impossibly crass, and a bit of a loudmouth, Kelly speedily proved superstar at spotlight-hogging. The release of the clunky Osbourne Family Album that June signaled that the tie-ins and overexposure had reached a fever deliver. However, Kelly's rocked-up travesty of Madonna's "Papa Don't Preach" made considerable interference, and abruptly Sony/Epic (Ozzy's longtime label home) was preparation a Kelly Osbourne full-length.

The fizzing, lightly rocking Close Up appeared for the first sentence in November 2002, accompanied by a media blitz banking on Kelly's world TV exposure and her heroic character. However, contempt multiple magazine covers, gossipy interviews, and her participation in the Osbournes' profanity-laced hosting of that year's American Music Awards, Close Up failed to flicker a great deal interest, and by May 2003, Kelly had been dropped from Epic. The setback neither slowed her down nor close her up, and by fall Kelly had resurfaced on the Sanctuary label. Rather than cathartic new material (it was rumored Kelly had had an album in the can at Epic earlier her dismission), Sanctuary reissued Close Up in September 2003 as Changes. It included hot material and new cover artistry, as well as the title path and lead unmarried, a refashioned Kelly/Ozzy duet version of the quondam Black Sabbath Vol. 4 ballad.

It continued to be an eventful biography for Kelly and her kin. With another season of The Osbournes in full swing, Kelly announced that she had been suffering from clinical depression. Then there was the dissolution of her relationship with Used singer Bert McCracken, the announcement of her mother's fight with cancer, Ozzy's serious injury in an ATV accident, and Jack's entryway into drug rehab. Ozzy also scuffled with a burglar at the family's Buckinghamshire estate. But Kelly also received strong notices for her actress turn in the passing ABC stripling drama Life as We Know It, and set plans for some other album fifty-fifty as she labored through rehab. Sleep in the Nothing appeared via Sanctuary in June 2005, with production and co-writing from hitmaker Linda Perry. It trashed the rock sound of her debut for stark dance-pop influenced heavily by the eighties, a sound Kelly aforementioned was more congressman of her tastes.

The Game: The Black Liberace?

1. The Game, "Superman"

The song's pretty cool, but dissing Batman (in favor of the superhero of the title) and identifying with John Gotti shows that the Game isn't too good at picking winners. Also, he calls himself the "Black Liberace." [Sit Down Stand Up]

2. Hope Sandoval, "Wild Roses"

We're not sure which is more than unbelievable: that Hope Sandoval (of Mazzy Star) is 42 years old, or that she's decided to debut her first new song in nearly a decade on a compilation record commit out by a French airline. [Brooklyn Vegan]

3. Late of the Pier, "Heartbeat" (Hot Chip Remix)

HC add more cowbell to this song from Late of the Pier's much-anticipated raw record. [VoulesRandom]

4. Passenger, "Umbrella" (Rihanna cover)

In the absence of a consensus Song of the Summer, Passenger prove that last year's still has hooks for days. [Welikeit.indie]

5. T.I. feat. the Dream, "Like I Do"

T.I./T.I.P. now has a third personality to add to the lean, as he seems as obsessed with threesomes in this new song as Woody Allen's publicist. [Ants in My Trance] Ehren Gresehover

One of France and Europe's nearly imposing film composers, Vladimir Cosma scored more than than one hundred fifty films and TV productions. Although he enjoyed nearly immediate success in comedies, he continued to experiment with different styles and genres, and this versatility brought him wide international spat.

Born on April 13, 1940, in Bucharest, Romania, to the house of a noted conductor and concert pianist, Cosma studied music from his early years onward, eventually attendance the National Conservatory in Bucharest (from which he calibrated with two number one prizes, for violin and piece). In 1963, he went to Paris to advance his studies at the French Conservatory, where, in addition to his authoritative background signal, he developed an stake in jazz, folk music, and photographic film medicine.

'tween 1964 and 1967, he toured the earthly concern as a concert violinist, visiting the U.S., Latin America, and Southeast Asia. A meeting with popular photographic film composer Michel Legrand became the first step toward his future vocation. Cosma always credits Legrand's importance, though he too admits the influence of such composers as Burt Bacharach and Henry Mancini.

In 1967, he began his long-running partnership with film theater director Yves Robert, for whom he scored the international hits Alexandre (1967), The Tall Blond With One Black Shoe (1972), and The Return of the Tall Blond (1974), as well as the critically acclaimed dramas My Father's Glory and My Mother's Castle (both in 1990). He too wrote the music for several comedies directed by Francis Veber and Gerard Oury, prima such hit French comedians as Pierre Richard and Louis de Funes.

One of his biggest international hits was the Erik Satie-inspired soundtrack for Prima donna (1981), for which he was awarded his number one Cesar (the French equivalent of the Oscar). He standard another Cesar for Le Bal (1983), and the main instrumental melodic theme from it became a substantial hit world-wide. Among the other awards given to Vladimir Cosma are the Sept d'Or, the French TV award for L'été '36 (1986), and a Cannes Film Festival award for the entire body of his work.
